Hi friend,

My team and I are always working on improving Sefaria for you. Today I have the pleasure of unveiling significant updates to our app that will provide you with a smoother, richer mobile study experience.

If you're already familiar with the Sefaria app, you'll find that the updated design helps you navigate through the library with more ease — plus you can access more of the features you know and love from our website. And if you haven't yet downloaded the app, we've made it easier than ever to jump in and start learning on the go.

What can you expect from the new Sefaria app experience?

  • Bottom Navigation Bar: With the brand new navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, you can directly tap to the library's table of contents, topic pages, search options, your saved texts, and your account.
  • Back Navigation: As you travel through the library, you can use the arrow in the top left corner to go back to the previous screen.
  • Your Account: Click on your account in the bottom navigation bar to customize your settings, get help, and more.
  • Expanded Search Options: It just got easier to find what you're looking for! Choose to view search results chronologically or by relevance, and use the text category filter to narrow your search.
  • Search Results: Now when you perform a topic or keyword search, results display a relevant excerpt of text along with its source. If we have more than one version of the text in the library, you can click on the 'More Versions' link to see all options and make a selection. And we've added our text category color-coding to provide an extra visual cue about each text.
  • Text Descriptions: Previously available only in the resource panel, now you’ll find overviews of each text category and of specific texts in the table of contents. This is a great way to get context as you browse. (But if you know what you’re looking for and prefer less scrolling, we invite you to skip the Table of Contents and navigate directly to texts via the search bar.)

 

 

 

Now that we've covered the big changes, here are a few tips for making the most out of the Sefaria app:

  1. Log in to your account to keep track of your study history and preferences.
  2. Use the bookmark feature to save your favorite texts. Return to them anytime through the bottom navigation bar or in your profile.
  3. Download the offline library to access every text on Sefaria with or without an internet connection.

 Julius I ask I ask By Julius I ask, what's the difference between a court put in place by a few, and a tyrant? What is the difference between a Prime Minister elected by a nation, and a court put in place by a few? A Democracy is governed by a Prime Minister that is elected by the nation, not by a court put in place by a few. A government that rules by a court is a Kritarchy! The government of Israel tries to be inclusive and include all walks of life within Israel regardless of religion, even though Israel is supposed to be a Jewish nation. This would be a good thing if the people who are voted into office truly loved Israel, appears that some don't!
