He was a great Jewish philanthropist and called for the settlement of Jews in Israel, which initiated the move of Jews to Lod, Nablus and Gaza. In his will he left over a million rubles to charity. In 1936, Wissotzky Tea became the very first tea company in Palestine and has since been the leading tea company in Israel.
