A woman is not commanded to learn Torah. An Aveirah can extinguish a Mitzvah but it cannot extinguish Torah. Rav Yosef and Rava hold that it is the merit of a Mitzvah that potentially saves a Sotah. Rava says that while a person is occupied with Torah it protects him from hardship and saves him from the evil inclination.
