At a special conference held by the Temple Institute to launch a new vision at the institute's exhibition, Rabbi Kalman Bar, Chief Rabbi of Israel and President of the Chief Rabbinate, addressed the anticipation of the Temple's construction and the lack of reality while it is not standing in its building.
"We don't understand how much we miss it today," cried the Chief Rabbi. "A person would come, do a tour, a person whose soul has fallen, instead of going to coaching, would go to the Temple, what beauty he would see, see God, how much he would strengthen, his soul would strengthen."
During the event, which was also attended by the Institute's chairman, Rabbi Israel Ariel, and other rabbis, a new and unique presentation was launched, which includes a series of new videos that spectacularly present the history of the Temple, from the First Temple, through the Second Temple, and to the present day, in anticipation of the building of the Third Temple.
The Chief Rabbi also spoke about a message he learned: "I once thought about the Gemara in Tractate Baba Batra, which says that when Herod built the Temple, he plated it with gold, and the sages of Israel suggested to him: 'Make it like the waves of the sea, blue and white.' Were the sages of Israel suddenly architects?", the Rabbi asked.
He continued and brought up the verse "You rule over the waves of the sea, in the vanity of its waves you praise them," and explained: "Simply put, when the wave is at its peak, you bring it down. You rule over the waves of the sea, you praise the waves. Why? The first wave sees it, and shatters. The second sees it: 'Why are you trying again?', and shatters, the third one more time, and the Lord of the universe loves that. Why? The main thing is the attempt, even if it doesn't succeed, God loves the attempts."
